| A Non-Smoker Statement |
Everyday, we communicate with other people. We live with others. We suppose to respect to
each others. This should be a very basic rule among human being. But there are a lot of people
who don't have the word of respect in their mind at all. They are smokers. Did you ever meet
somebody who you don't know, come to you and ask for your permission to smoke? No. They
force others to breathe in something which they don't want, which they blow out from their
smelly mouth. They want to spoil their health. It is fine. They decided to have unhealthy life. It
is fine. They have the right to spoil their own lung. I even believe everybody is having his right
to die or to die faster. But smokers affect people around them. Some even are smoking in front
of their own kids. Do they love their kids? To have a healthy body, we suppose trying our best
to increase the oxygen level in our body. Smoking is reducing the oxygen level in our body.
When oxygen level is reduced, our body will become weaker to fight with all kinds of deceases
and illnesses. It is not surprise that, from time to time, we may hear some new discoveries of
how smoking brings harm to our body.
I still believe there are some smokers who really respect to others. But I believe they are not
many of them. Please ask the smokers, whether they know or not, smoking is bad for their
health? They know very well that smoking is a bad habit. Then what is the reason for a smoker
continuing to smoke?
Smoking is just a habit. Smokers think that they can't quit smoking. My father quit smoking
successfully. Why my father ( just an ordinary man ) able to quit smoking but most of the
smokers are not able to do so? Some even give excuses on why they smoke. They say,
smoking gives inspiration in composing music. I compose music but I don't smoke. Some say,
they have to entertain their customers. So they say they have to smoke. I have a friend ( we
took the same mathematic course during our university time ) and he is now my insurance
agent, in charged of my whole family insurance plans. His monthly income is more than 10K,
earning from the insurance premium. He does not smoke. I believe his customers are respect to
him because of not smoking, just like I respect to him so much because of not smoking.
Smoker needs to pay more insurance premium than a non-smoker because of the higher risk.
Is there any occupation which needs you to smoke and without smoking you can't get your
pay? I am very interested to know whether such job is exists or not.
To smoke, it is not just paying for the cigarette. You have to pay for the medication,
consultation and medicine ( which is caused by your weak body immune system ). If you are
diagnosed of having cancer, how much money needed for paying the cancer treatment? If you
are affecting your kids’ health, you have to pay for your kids’ medication as well. Smoker is
paying to spoil their health. This is really not rational at all. Why they may use their own money
to spoil their own health? And then pay to the doctor to maintain their health. That is why I
always say, smokers are stupid. If you think, I am hurting your feeling, actually I am not. I am
just showing you some facts and these facts are hurting you, not me the one who hurting you.
Nowadays, even somebody who is practicing healthy life may get cancer. We try and hope not
to get cancer. But smokers are saying welcome to getting cancer.
Somebody is trying to get better health. Somebody is trying to spoil their health. Is this because
of ignorant? For most of them, the answer is no. As I said, they know smoking is bad for
health. If it is not because of ignorant, then they are stupid ( stupid of always thinking that they
can't quit smoking ), the only reason I could find.
If you smoke and not affecting others at all ( not forcing others to breathe in the smoke ), you
have enough money to pay for the cigarette, your money is ready for paying cancer treatment
and accept whatever side effects of the treatment, you never complain on your income, you
have a lots of time to get doctor consultation, you are happy to get sick ( never complain on
your sickness and accept your weak body immune system ), you respect to non-smokers, then
what can I say? Please continue smoking. This is your right to do so. You are an adult.
I would like to make something clear here. I don't care whether you are a smoker or not. I just
don't feel comfortable when you force me to breathe in the smoke. You have the right to spoil
your own lung. That is not my business. But you are not allowed to spoil my lung.
Notes to all smokers: Please don't blame that you don't have enough money. Please don't blame
that people look down on you. You are causing what you are facing now. Just accept whatever
you are facing. Accepting all what you face is showing that you are an adult who responsible
on what you did.
